Choose regulation strategies that support your system, personalize your approach
Ayurveda is an ancient holistic framework I've relied on for over seven years to support my wellbeing.
Many people dismiss Ayurvedic guidance because they assume it requires following a rigid set of rules. I don't see Ayurveda as a strict set of rules. Instead, I use it as a practical guide that helps me navigate modern life while caring for my body more intentionally. It allows me to respond to my body's changing needs and choose practices that support balance, resilience, and vitality.
Below is a brief overview of the three core energies. In my monthly newsletter, I share practices and insights that help bring each of them into balance.
If you'd like to dive deeper than what I share here, I encourage you to explore the concept of Ayurvedic doshas.
Vata
Vata is the energy of movement, creativity, and change. When balanced, it supports inspiration, adaptability, and enthusiasm. When out of balance, it can show up as feeling scattered, anxious, overwhelmed, or depleted.
Pitta
Pitta is the energy of focus, ambition, and transformation. When balanced, it supports confidence, motivation, and strong leadership. When out of balance, it can show up as irritability, perfectionism, frustration, or burnout.
Kapha
Kapha is the energy of stability, nourishment, and resilience. When balanced, it supports calmness, patience, and emotional steadiness. When out of balance, it can show up as feeling stuck, sluggish, resistant to change, or lacking motivation.
