September Nervous System Check-In âś»
(~4-minute read)
And in the blink of an eye, we’re in September. I don’t know about you, but 2026 is flying by for me!
The weather is still warm, but as summer starts to wind down, routines return and schedules fill up again… life can suddenly feel like it’s moving in a different direction.
September can bring a sense of movement and change, new goals, new routines, new expectations, and a lot to mentally reorganize as we settle back into structure.
For many of us, the challenge in September isn’t a lack of motivation. It’s staying grounded while everything around us starts moving again.
Let’s dive in!
SEPTEMBER INSIGHTS
September asks your nervous system to stabilize while adapting.
As routines change and the pace of life increases again, your nervous system has more transitions to process. Even positive change requires energy, and when there isn't enough grounding between demands, you may find yourself more reactive, scattered, or physically tense.
In Ayurvedic terms, September marks the beginning of Vata season, when the qualities of air and movement become more pronounced. This is a time to ground, nourish, and create stability before increased movement turns into depletion.
This month, you might notice:
- More mental activity, overthinking, or difficulty settling your mind
- Feeling more sensitive to changes in plans, routines, or your environment
- More tension in your body, especially when you're moving quickly from one thing to the next
- Craving stability while simultaneously feeling pulled toward what's next
This Month's Capacity Focus: Create stability while life is moving.
